Endangered animals. What can we do to help?
Some of our favorite animals are endangered and it could be due to human activity.

Why endangered animals are important

"We all have a responsibility to protect endangered species, both for their sake and for the sake of our own future generations" - Loretta Lynch

Endangered animals are important for the world because they are needed in the food chain to keep other animals from becoming extinct or from multiplying too much. Many animals are really beautiful and unfortunately some of the endangered ones are being hunted for that.

What are endangered animals and why are they endangered?

Endangered animals are certain animals who are slowly dying out. They are close to being extinct (not existing anymore). Some animals who are endangered are the panda, sea turtle, galapagos penguins, polar bears, and the African elephant. According to National Geographic, some reasons why animals are becoming endangered is because of their loss of habitat, loss of genetic variation, and pollution. Loss of habitat and pollution are OUR faults. It doesn't just harm humans, it is harming animals too.

Who is impacted with endangered species?

Everyone is impacted when animals become extinct. The food chain, mainly. When one major predator becomes extinct, the animals underneath it in the food chain will multiply out of control and the entire ecosystem will be altered. Humans are impacted too. The food chain being altered could start a very bad chain of events, leading up to harming us.
